Step 1: Test Lighting Preparation (Most Important!)

Power-off Operation: All wiring work must be performed with the power completely off. Turn off the corresponding circuit breakers in the distribution box and verify with a test pen.

Wiring Inspection: Check the wire ends for any damage or exposed wires. Wrap them with insulating tape if necessary.

Waterproof Seal: Ensure the fixture's junction box cover, waterproof rubber ring, and other components are properly installed to prevent water intrusion and short circuits.

Personal Protection: Wear insulating gloves when operating.

Step 2: Test Lighting by Type

A. Mains Power Garden Light (Connected to a 220V Household Circuit)

Correct Wiring: Ensure the live (L), neutral (N), and ground (PE) wires are connected correctly and securely. The ground wire is crucial and must be connected.

Preliminary Self-Test: Manually check that all terminals are secure and that the wiring is correct.

First Power Supply:

Two people are required: one person at the electrical box preparing to supply power, while the other person observes the fixture.

After power is supplied, observe whether the light illuminates. Listen carefully for any unusual buzzing sounds, smoke or sparks, and smell any burning odors.

Result Verification:

Normal illumination: Success. Allow the light to operate for a while, then touch the light body to check for abnormal overheating.

No illumination: Immediately turn off the power and inspect the light source (such as the LED module or bulb) for damage or poor contact.

Immediate tripping: Immediately turn off the power! There is a serious short circuit; inspect the wiring section by section.

No abnormality: Immediately turn off the power! The lamp or driver is faulty and needs to be replaced.

B. Solar Garden Lights

Ensure power: Confirm that the physical switch on the light body is turned on (ON).

Simulate darkness: Completely cover the solar panel with opaque cardboard or black cloth.

Wait for triggering: Wait a few minutes (this time varies by product) for the light control system to trigger the light to illuminate.

Result Verification:

On: Success.

No illumination:

Check if the battery is protected by an insulating protective film. Has it been removed?

The battery may be completely drained. Charge it in sunlight for a day before trying again.

The light source or controller may be damaged.

Step 3: Final Inspection and Adjustment
After the light is turned on, perform the following checks to ensure the best user experience:

Functional Test: Test whether intelligent features such as light control, occupancy detection, and timing are functioning properly.

Angle Adjustment: Check whether the light coverage area is covered. Adjust the angle of the light fixture to avoid direct glare.

Consistency Check (Multiple Lights): Check whether the brightness and color temperature of all lights in the same batch are consistent.

Stability Observation: Allow the light to operate continuously for a period of time to observe whether the brightness is stable and whether there is any flickering.
